2nd year ARC students design prison for female inmates

The School of Architecture and Design (SoA+D), KMUTT in collaboration with The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) initiated a project to design the prison for female inmates.

On the 31st of May 2019, the second year students of Architecture program presented their design after conducting a study of the space at the Female Correctional Institution and interviewing the inmates. To design the new prison, the students applied their knowledge and ideas based on their research about human rights, and suitability in many aspects for female inmates such as environmental factors and ways of living inside the prison. They presented their designs to the experts from ICRC, Department of Corrections and Ministry of Justice. Also, they received suggestions to develop their design in the future.
