Ceramic Intelligence explored the intersection of generative artificial intelligence, digital fabrication, and ceramic making. Working in teams, students used ComfyUI to develop AI-generated visual and spatial studies, beginning with 2D image generation using SDXL and Flux models before translating selected outcomes into 3D meshes through image-to-3D workflows. These digital objects were then curated and refined for ceramic production. The projects were developed through an iterative digital-to-physical process, where AI-generated forms, mesh preparation, fabrication tests, and material experiments continuously informed one another. Rhino and Grasshopper were used to clean and prepare geometry, generate robotic toolpaths, or design CNC-milled moulds for slip-casting. The final ceramic artefacts reflect a dialogue between computational imagination and material behaviour, raising questions about authorship, craft, and the evolving role of the architect in AI-assisted design and making.
