KMUTT Hands Over “Co-Living Pavilion” to Klong San District, Enhancing Urban Well-being for Bangkok Design Week 2025
BANGKOK, December 20, 2025 — The School of Architecture and Design (SoA+D) at King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi (KMUTT), in collaboration with its network partners, officially handed over a multi-purpose pavilion to the Klong San District office. The ceremony marks a significant milestone for the “PLACEMAKING Silpa-San” project, aimed at revitalizing urban public spaces through community-driven design.
The handover took place at 11:00 AM, with Mr. Sorasit Luangrungkiat, Director of Klong San District, formally accepting the pavilion for public use.
A Prototype for Modern Co-Living
The structure serves as a “Co-Living Prototype Pavilion,” designed and constructed using the Placemaking process. This approach ensures that the space is not merely a physical structure but a functional hub that addresses the actual needs of local residents. The pavilion provides a communal area for social interaction, supporting a healthier and more integrated lifestyle in the post-pandemic era.
Bridging Heritage and Innovation
The “PLACEMAKING Silpa-San” project focuses on transforming public areas by blending the unique cultural identity of the Klong San district with contemporary art and design. By involving the community in the design process, the project aims to improve the quality of life and foster a sense of ownership among residents.
Strategic Partnership with Bangkok Design Week 2025
This initiative is a core component of the Bangkok Design Week 2025 (BKKDW2025) activities in the Klong San neighborhood. โครงการ “PLACEMAKING ศิลปะ-สาน” เป็นความร่วมมือระหว่างคณะสถาปัตยกรรมศาสตร์และการออกแบบ (SoA+D) มหาวิทยาลัยเทคโนโลยีพระจอมเกล้าธนบุรี (มจธ.) และภาคีเครือข่าย เพื่อพัฒนาพื้นที่สาธารณะในเขตคลองสานผ่านกระบวนการออกแบบที่มีส่วนร่วมกับชุมชน

งานส่งมอบ: จัดขึ้นเมื่อวันที่ 20 ธันวาคม 2568 เวลา 11.00 น.
รูปแบบศาลา: เป็น ศาลาต้นแบบการอยู่อาศัย Co-Living ที่ออกแบบและสร้างขึ้นผ่านกระบวนการ Place Making เพื่อเป็นพื้นที่ใช้สอยส่วนรวมสำหรับคนในชุมชน
ผู้รับมอบ: นายสรสิช เหลืองรุ่งเกียรติ (Mr. Sorasit Luangrungkiat) ผู้อำนวยการเขตคลองสาน เป็นผู้รับมอบเพื่อนำไปใช้ประโยชน์ในพื้นที่ต่อไป
วัตถุประสงค์โครงการ: มุ่งเน้นการสร้างสรรค์พื้นที่ให้มีชีวิต (Placemaking) โดยการใช้ศิลปะและการออกแบบมาเชื่อมโยงอัตลักษณ์ของย่านคลองสาน เข้ากับการพัฒนาคุณภาพชีวิตและพื้นที่สาธารณะของเมือง
โครงการนี้ยังเป็นส่วนหนึ่งของกิจกรรมที่เชื่อมโยงกับเทศกาลงานออกแบบกรุงเทพฯ 2568 (Bangkok Design Week 2025) ในย่านคลองสาน ซึ่ง มจธ. มีบทบาทสำคัญในการขับเคลื่อนผ่านศูนย์ Knowledge Exchange (KX)
