“Happy and Sustainable Packaging” Asia-Link International Design Workshop 2019 in Japan

SoA+D joined the workshop along with 3 universities collaborating in Asia-Link Outbound International Design Workshop 2019 in Japan.

Mr. Pattarapol Chantkam (lecturer in Industrial Design and project leader) along with SoA+D’s design students joined the Asia Link International Design Workshop. Other participants came from Shibaura Institute of Technology (SIT) in Japan, Ulsan National Institute of Science and Technology (UNIST) in South Korea and University of Ulsan ( UoU) in South Korea. The workshop was focused on “Happy and Sustainable Packaging”, and it was held between July 23 – August 1, 2019 at Shibaura Institute of Technology (Tamachi Campus) in Japan. It aimed to provide students design knowledge and experience to work as a team with partner universities, and to enhance networking in academic and research.

“Happy and Sustainable Packaging” focused on redesigning and improving packaging of food, beverages, detergents, etc. to suit our changing lifestyles functionally, aesthetically and sustainably. In addition, the students got involved in cultural activities such as Kimono wearing. They also had a chance to visit Toyo Seikan (one of the biggest packaging companies in Japan) to attend the lecture and see the Museum of Package Culture and packaging design exhibition. There were around 60 participants who attended the design workshop.
