KMUTT English Lecturer Shares Expertise on Internationalization at ASCOT, Philippines 🇵🇭 🇹🇭

Ajarn Bettizza R. Escueta, English Lecturer at the School of Architecture and Design, King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi (KMUTT), Thailand, was invited to deliver a talk to the faculty and staff at the Aurora State College of Technology (ASCOT), Philippines on December 26, 2025.

The talk, titled “Internationalization, Intercultural Competence, and the Power of English in Academia,” brought together ASCOT faculty and staff for an engaging exchange of ideas on teaching, communication, and culture. The session fostered lively discussions on the role of English as a global academic language and the importance of intercultural competence in higher education.

Organized as part of ASCOT’s institutional development initiatives, the talk aimed to strengthen capacity in internationalization strategies and intercultural communication skills. The program aligns with the policies of the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) and the Philippines Higher Education Internationalization Roadmap 2023–2027.

Through this initiative, ASCOT seeks to better prepare its faculty and staff to nurture globally competent students and to actively participate in meaningful international academic collaboration. Ajarn Bettizza expressed her gratitude for the kind invitation and the enriching conversations, highlighting the shared commitment of both institutions to advancing global engagement in higher education.
