KMUTT SoA+D Hosted “Contemporary Japanese Architecture Talk Series 2026” in Bangkok
The School of Architecture and Design (SoA+D), King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi (KMUTT), hosted the “Contemporary Japanese Architecture Talk Series 2026,” an international lecture series showcasing innovative architectural ideas from Japan.
The series featured distinguished speakers who shared their expertise and perspectives on contemporary architectural design. The first lecture was held on 29 April 2026 by Akira Yoneda, Professor from Kwansei Gakuin University, at Japan Foundation Bangkok.
The talk provided valuable insights about Japanese architectural practices, highlighting the integration of cultural sensitivity, advanced technology, and sustainable design approaches. Akira Yoneda, a well-known architect based in the Kansai region of Japan, inspired students and participants with his design philosophy and contemporary works.
This lecture series served as a platform for academic exchange among students, academics, and design professionals, while strengthening international collaboration between Thailand and Japan.
The event was kindly supported by The Japan Foundation Bangkok and YKK AP Thailand, reflecting KMUTT’s commitment to promoting global academic engagement and reinforcing its position as a leading institution in architecture and design.
