KMUTT’s Adjunct/Visiting Professors Jenchieh Hung and Kulthida Songkittipakdee from HAS Design and Research have been appointed to the RIBA International Awards: Asia Pacific Awards Jury.
Jenchieh Hung and Kulthida Songkittipakdee, the founders and acclaimed architects of the international, award-winning practice HAS Design and Research, as well as adjunct/visiting professors at KMUTT – King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi’s School of Architecture and Design (SoA+D), have been appointed to serve as jurors for the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) – RIBA International Awards: Asia Pacific Awards 2025. The announcement was made on the official RIBA website and the RIBA Architecture Festival Asia website, marking a significant recognition of both the architects and their practice. This appointment highlights not only their professional contributions to the field of architecture but also their dedication to education and academic engagement through their roles at KMUTT since 2020.
Both professors will serve in different award jury categories: Jenchieh Hung in the RIBA Awards “Design for Living” category and Kulthida Songkittipakdee in the RIBA Awards “Social Architecture” category. The RIBA International Awards: Asia Pacific Awards 2025 celebrate projects that are deeply rooted in the distinctive cultures and identities of the region, reflecting architecture that addresses contemporary challenges while shaping meaningful ways of living. Their appointments also demonstrate the synergy between SoA+D’s academic leadership – under Dean Waraluk Pansuwan and Architecture Program Chairperson Kisnaphol Wattanawanyoo – and international professional practice. It illustrates how KMUTT’s adjunct/visiting professors, Jenchieh Hung and Kulthida Songkittipakdee, actively connect education with professional practice in Thailand, the Asia Pacific region, and the United Kingdom.
