SoA+D students win First Prize in Board Game Design Contest

The School of Architecture and Design, King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi would like to congratulate “NongPedTheCat”, a team of 2nd year students in Design Innovation and Communication Design programs. They won the first prize in the Energy on Board by BANPU B-Sports Thailand competition, presenting their creative game entitled “Recharge” – designed to meet the needs of managing the world energy in creative and sustainable way. In this game, the players, who assume the role of a private power producer in the animal city, must meet the rapidly increasing demand for electricity from business and industry expansion. The players who are able to manage power plants and businesses in well-balanced, stable, and most environmentally friendly condition will be the winners.

NongPedTheCat was composed of the following students:

1. Mr. Vanawat Maneechoti, 2nd year student in Design Innovation program
2. Mr. Wittawin Archanuparb, 2nd year student in Design Innovation program
3. Mr. Nopadon Shaoquan, 2nd year student in Communication Design program
4. Miss Pataraporn Jirawanakosolwong, 2nd year student, Srinakharinwirot University

Board Game Design Contest organized by Banpu Public Company Limited in coordination with Board Game Night (BGN) was focused on designing board games depicting sustainable energy. There were 28 teams joining the competition, and the winners were announced on December 4, 2020. Finally, our students won the first prize and received 50,000 Baht. Their winning entry would be exhibited at a world-class fair in Taiwan.
