SoA+D wins Thesis of the Year in Creativity Award (TOY ARCH 2021)

Congratulations to Ms. Papitchaya Wiboonsirichai (Batch 23 of Interior Architecture program) for winning the “Thesis of the Year in Creativity Award (TOY ARCH 2021)” with her work entitled “Human – Nature – Life Vertical Village”.  The competition was organized by The Association of Siamese Architects under Royal Patronage (ASA), Council of Deans of Architecture School of Thailand (CDAST) and KMITL

Conceptual Design:
Human – Nature – Life Vertical Village project is a new living typology, designed to fill in the gaps of living space between small condominiums in the city and vast housing estate in suburban areas.

“Vertical Village” is formed by combining the good points of both types of living to create a new living typology that could respond to the new lifestyle — taking the benefits of vertical living and facilities of a condominium together with a comfortable living space and accessibility to nature.

Moreover, the project focuses on reconnecting humans and nature. Nature is not just about greenery but it also includes other species, other human beings, and nature of a place. It is used to connect spaces, programs, and activities together under the concept of Human – Nature (Relationship) – Life (style) or it simply means a place where human beings are living harmoniously with nature.
