Description

Nowadays Charoenkrung does not only represents as the nostalgia of Bangkok prosperity in the old time but also facing a situation of automation and artificially intelligent. This situation will create a huge transformation to the urban context, especially the impact of disruptive technologies on the working class. Therefore, the Thai government decided to provide a strategy for Charoenkrung district to become a place to fulfill the gap between work class and technology in the 21st century. Charoenkrung Creative district becomes the outcome of a government solution to change the old business strategy to creative business which responds to a global trend. Instead, Charoenkrung creative district lack of understanding of the existing context. The project supports an only specific group of people and lack of concern to the low and middle working class which is one of the largest group in Thai society that will be most impacted by disruptive technologies in the future. Charoenkrung District requires a training place for the low and middle workforce to adapt their self with the future working landscape. This Thesis project redefines the idea of adult learning to provide a solution for people in the low and middle working class in Thai society and able to create a new learning environment for Charoenkrung district in the 21st-century era.
