Competition Summary
The Busan International Design Award is an international event developed and based on the former Busan Industrial Design Exhibition. It is used as a forum for sharing various design concepts through international design industry exchanges and restorations. It is Asia’s largest international design award, jointly hosted by Busan Metropolitan City, Busan Metropolitan City Office of Education, Busan Chamber of Commerce & Industry, and Design Council Busan, and it is organized by Design Council Busan, to revitalize the design industry in connection with the platform for the realization and commercialization of ideas.
We welcome all-around talented designers, design students, and judges to participate in the award!
• Eligibility
– General public: Undergraduate and graduate students, all individuals and organizations
– General students: Elementary, secondary, or high school students, students preparing for university entrance exams
– Invited/Recommended(Nominated) Designers: Invited/ Recommended (Nominated) Designers of the International Busan Design Award
• Theme
– The theme of the International Busan Design Award: Free
– Special Theme: World Expo 2030 BUSAN
※ The number of entries for the Special Theme Category is unlimited
※ Personal submission or group submission of maximum 4 designers are accepted (maximum 2 pieces of the design per each entry)
※ Group submission (maximum 4 designers) must specify the one main designer and supporting designers
• Entry Fee
– General public/Student: Free
– Organizations: KRW100,000 per 1 entry piece (payment upon entry submission)

– 1st Round result announcement: May 11, 2022
– Offline Submission of Actual pieces: May 20 ~ May 23, 2022
– Announcement of Results: May 31, 2022
– Awards Ceremony: June 9, 2022, 16:00 at BEXCO Exhibition Hall 1
