INTERNATIONAL CREATIVITY AND INNOVATION AWARDS (ICIA)

INTERNATIONAL CREATIVITY AND INNOVATION AWARDS (ICIA)

Supporting Target Goals in Sustainable Development (Sustainable Development Goals: SDGs) organized by the United Nations

The activities designed at ICIA provide opportunities for participants to explore and act independently through a learning process that includes webinars and Kryative Talk sessions, which are part of the consultation process to inspire participants in receiving deeper and broader insights in creativity and innovation perspectives, and to innovate new solutions for SDGs networking sessions, including proposing and presenting inventions to international experts and judges.

“The International Creativity and Innovation Awards (ICIA)” is designed for young inventors to improve their problem-solving skills in addressing SDGs challenges and is part of the platform to celebrate youth innovators introducing their innovations to the world during World Creativity and Innovation Day (WCID). ICIA’s learning process also helps young people across generations strengthen their willingness to learn and realize what they need to achieve. Also, it will help them prepare for life, create opportunities to meet with international experts and qualified committee members, and demonstrate potential for public recognition. Experiences in learning are aimed at enhancing public speaking and English communication skills, fostering empathy towards addressing multidimensional issues, and enriching educational and experiential backgrounds. The process involves searching for inventions, inspiring creativity, dedicating oneself to promoting 21st-century skills.

In Thailand, the International Creativity and Innovation Awards 2024 gathered over 250 students and more than 60 teachers from 16 countries to compete in innovating research projects in the field of science and technology using STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) approach. This initiative, anchored by the collaboration of the King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi, was part of the award adjudication activities held on Sunday, April 28, 2024. The event was made possible through the partnership of Global Lab and the Multiple Intelligences for Design Integration (MIDI) program, an international curriculum offered by the School of Architecture and Design. Mr. Michael Paripol Tangtrongchit (Chairperson of MIDI program), was among the judge panel.
