The DPL architecture studio considers the architect as a social agent. The studio adopts a multidisciplinary approach, exploring topics such as mapping, anthropological fieldwork, and academic research to develop socially engaged projects rooted in specific cultural contexts.
Its programme consists of two exercises per semester: the first is skills-based, and the second is an architectural project. Each semester focuses on a specific site and its social context. Students are confronted with different scales — regional, urban, and rural — and are asked to respond through a design proposal addressing the issues identified through prior analysis.
