NAFA – SoA+D collaboration and visit
To continue the development of fruitful activities in the future and continue the strong partnership, delegates from Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts (NAFA), Singapore, visited the School of Architecture and Design (SoA+D) for two days (November 2-3, 2023). Also, it was a good chance to meet with the newly elected Dean of School of Architecture and Design, Asst. Prof. Waraluk Pansuwan, as well as the new executive team and program heads, including Asst. Prof. Dr. Martin Schoch (Assistant Dean for Internationalization), Ms. Kiatkamon Nilapronkul (Landscape Architecture program head), and Asst. Prof. Karuna Kleubmongkol (Interior Architecture program head). The meeting was focused on new initiatives and academic exchange for undergraduate and BA Biophilic Design and Future Degree programs involving Interior Architecture, and Landscape Architecture programs.
NAFA delegates represented by Ms. Sabrina Long (Dean, Faculty of Art and Design), Mr. Fadzli Jamil (Associate Dean School of 3D Design) and Ms. Park Hye Young (Deputy Associate Dean and Programme Leader (Spatial) from School of 3D Design) visited various labs and other facilities at SoA+D in the afternoon.
On the 3rd of November, the guests visited our new program, MIDI (Multiple Intelligences for Design Integration), which is housed in the KX Building. Mr. Kamonsin Chathurattaphol (MIDI instructor) introduced the program and led the group on a tour of KX Building, Redek, and Jacob Jensen Design Studio. In the afternoon, Asst. Prof. Dr. Chanyaporn Bstieler, Head of the LRIC Lab (Lighting Research and Innovation Centre) and Chairperson of Design and Planning, welcomed them to the LRIC Lab. The visit offered a chance for a future collaborative research project. Thank you for the long growing years of collaboration and beyond!!
